Amos Groenendyk

teaching pastor (lead)

Amos and Alison share almost all their passions and hobbies: they love talking about “church,” watching football, hiking and doing home renovation projects together. They have two beautiful, fiery daughters, Aisla and Aviva. Life, marriage and ministry have never been the same since they joined the family!

Amos graduated from Calvin University and then Calvin Seminary with a semester abroad at Jerusalem University College and internships in Uganda, Montana, and Ohio. He has served as a kids director, youth pastor and in 2011 God called he and Alison to be the planting pastors of Revive Vineyard Church in Grand Rapids, MI. In 2016 they moved to Pennsylvania to become the “second generation” pastors at the Vineyard in Chester Springs after Bob and Marilyn Palumbo’s retirement.

Amos values spiritual depth, emotional health, and an engaged mind. He would love to connect with you over beer, coffee or a bowl of ice cream. He is a student of the Bible and his favorite authors/thinkers are NT Wright, John Mark Comer, St Augustine, Brene Brown and JRR Tolkien. He frequently recommends the ESV Study Bible as his favorite resource.

As part of his role, Amos oversees our life groups and leadership circle and leads VineyardYouth.

Alison Groenendyk

pastor of spiritual formation (lead)

Alison loves learning about communication, relationships, psychology, and the human body, and she found a career in medical speech pathology to be the perfect blend of these passions! Alison worked as a brain injury specialist for 8 years across many hospital and rehab settings, and was a clinical instructor at her alma mater, the University of Northern Iowa!

Alison has been a part of the Vineyard movement since 2004, when she began searching for a church that valued equally the Bible and God’s Spirit! Her first time in a Vineyard church, she knew she was “home”. She loves the authenticity and radical welcome of the Vineyard, and that we get to live life together in response to simply being loved perfectly by Jesus! Alison has served in many leadership roles in adult groups, youth ministry, worship, outreach, and young adult ministry. Amos and Alison planted and pastored a Vineyard Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan soon after they were married in 2010.

A trained spiritual director through Sustainable Faith, Alison is at her best when helping individuals and small groups experience the healing and wholeness Jesus offers. Her pastoral roles include overseeing Worship, VineyardKids and Prayer. She also helps to set the strategic vision of the church and staff, and to grow our culture of spiritual formation and emotional health!

Alison is mom to two sweet daughters and delights to watch them learn and grow. In her free time (haha!), she likes to nap, read medical journals, listen to good music (all kinds), hike, and cheer on the Green Bay Packers!

Stef Austinat

Director of Operations

IMG_20201218_143117723_HDR.jpg

Stef is a native of Essen, Germany, but found her heart’s home in Philadelphia when she moved to the U.S. to attend school at Temple University. Stef graduated from Temple with a degree in Tourism & Hospitality Management and Business and expresses her love for God and people in large part through the avenues of hospitality and administration. She spent 16 years in Conference Services at Villanova University and during this time obtained her green card, making PA her permanent home. Stef has been a part of the Vineyard movement for over a decade and helped plant a Vineyard church in the Philadelphia region where she then served on the board and as the director of community partnerships. Her heart for working towards the flourishing of all people was on display in this role as she helped the church develop a culture for expressing Jesus’ love and welcome through regular practical service in the community.

In her role at VCS, Stef is responsible for several operations and ministry areas, including facilities/building operations, Sunday morning hospitality and teams, events, finance (including our financial assistance team), care, and community service, along with a good dash of general admin (such as weekly e-mail, graphics, website and podcast) mixed in. She loves the variety of tasks and opportunities to express her skills and gifting, and in turn being able to free up others to do what God has called them to do.

Stef enjoys the city and loves to introduce others to its beauty, uniqueness, and, well, quirkiness. Nature has her heart, though - especially spots with views of wide-open skies or being on or near the water. On rainy days, Stef enjoys baking (and eating baked goods), and she is an avid reader and podcast listener and engages in theological reflection through these avenues, but also enjoys sitting down with a good cozy mystery - she doesn’t take herself too seriously!
